Our Story

A Movement Born from Compassion

Together To Get Her was founded with a simple yet powerful belief: that every girl child, regardless of her background or circumstances, deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and lead. Born in the heart of Ngora District, Uganda, our organization emerged from witnessing firsthand the barriers that prevent girls from reaching their full potential — poverty, lack of access to education, cultural limitations, and insufficient mentorship.

What began as a small community initiative to support a handful of girls with school supplies has grown into a comprehensive charitable organization touching hundreds of lives across multiple communities. Founded by Judith Adeke and driven by a deep commitment to gender equality and human rights, Together To Get Her Charitable Organization (Registration No. CBS/NDLG/60) works to create lasting, systemic change.

Today, we work tirelessly across education, mentorship, leadership development, health, and skills training — always keeping the girl child at the center of everything we do. We partner with families, schools, community leaders, and generous donors to build a support network that lifts girls up and empowers them to become the leaders of tomorrow.

Judith Adeke

Founder & CEO

Judith Adeke is the Founder and CEO of Together To Get Her Charitable Organization and a human rights activist based in Uganda. She also founded Adeke Reusable Pads, an initiative that educates women on sexual and reproductive health and teaches them how to make affordable reusable sanitary pads.

Through Together To Get Her — a community-based organization in Ngora District, Eastern Uganda — Judith advocates for the rights and empowerment of young girls and women who are survivors of gender-based violence. She believes every girl deserves a life free from violence, inequality, and discrimination, and works to create safe, supportive environments where girls can thrive and reach their full potential.

Her leadership brings together education, skills development, menstrual health, and community advocacy — turning compassion into practical change for girls and families across Kapir Sub-county and beyond.

The Challenge

Why We Exist

In many communities across Uganda, girl children face disproportionate challenges. Cultural norms, economic hardship, early marriage, and limited access to quality education create barriers that too often cut short a girl's dreams before they can even begin. According to UNESCO, millions of girls in sub-Saharan Africa remain out of school, and those who do attend often lack the support systems needed to succeed.

Together To Get Her exists to break this cycle. We address the root causes of educational inequality by providing scholarships, mentorship, health education, and skills training. We work with parents and community leaders to shift mindsets and create environments where girls are valued and supported. Our holistic approach ensures that girls don't just attend school — they thrive, lead, and inspire others.

When you invest in a girl's education and empowerment, you invest in an entire community. Educated girls grow into women who lift families out of poverty, improve health outcomes, and drive social progress. That is the change we are committed to creating — one girl, one community, one generation at a time.
